How Long Could It Take To Recover From Appendix Operation?
Hi I believe that I have a bad appendix and I went to the doctors and he told me chances are I'll have to get it removed. But I have a cheer Competition on saturday and a whole season about to start next week. If I get surgery how long would I have to sit out. And also I am in gymnastics would ow long would I have to wait before I could start again.
Your recovery time depends on the type of surgery you had. If you had laparoscopic surgery, you will probably be able to return to work or a normal routine 1 to 3 weeks after surgery. If you had an open surgery, it may take 2 to 4 weeks. If your appendix ruptured, you may have a drain in your incision. Ruptured appendix can be fatal. Better wait for a month before restarting all your strenous activitys for lap and open surgery. It is better to be safe rather than being sorry.
