Hi,

Petogen injection contains Medroxyprogesterone acetate which is a hormonal analogue of the hormone progesterone secreted in the body. Progesterone is the hormone secreted in the body which maintains the menstrual cycle along with hormone estrogen.

Progesterone controls the cycle by controlling the development and release of eggs, changing the consistency of the cervical mucus and also by controlling the development of endometrial lining of the uterus. If the released egg is not fertilized, progesterone levels falls which results in shedding of the developed endometrial lining.

Petogen injection has its action for up to 13 weeks. This is a potential contraceptive agent. It regulates the menstrual cycle, controls the menstrual bleeding and menstrual cramps. Visit the gynecologist for further evaluation and treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
