How Long Does Atenolol Take To Show Effective?

I think I took my dose of atenolol which is 100mg but not sure. Instead I might of taken 200 mg. How long would it take for effects to take place if I did. It was around two to three hours apart if I did. I feel ok but my blood pressure is 163/103 right now but I think it’s mostly anxiety because I worried about it. Can you help.

Hello,

Atneolol should be having its peak (maximum) effect between 2 and 4 hours after taking the dose. I do not suggest taking 200mg as 100mg is already a high dose and you might get side effects such as a low heart rate which might be serious.
