How Long Does Cymbalta Side Effects Last?

I was on 30 mg Cymbalta for a week, now 6th day on 60 mg. I take in the am. I am male over 50. I began having these side effects on 30 mg and they have not abated: testicular and groin pain, worse at night; impossible to complete sex (not merely difficulty ); indeed, libido nearly non-existent, whereas healthy prior to Cymbalta. My question is not so much is Cymbalta the cause (it obviously is), but do these kinds of side effects last. No affect yet on my depression. Thank you.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Cymbalta is known to produce sexual dysfunction, the effect generally lasts for 2-3 weeks and may abate. however, permanent loss of libido is described in some case reports following short term use of cymbalta, even though extremely rare.
The action on depression starts after 3 rd week and hence you are too early to respond. 8 weeks is the time where you can ask for a change of prescription.
Hope this helps.
