Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your cause behind elevated liver enzymes has to be searched first. Fatty liver, chronic hepatitis, Wilson disease, drug induced, non alcoholic steatohepatitis, cholestasis etc might be the cause.

Work up done are as follows:

- Serum cholesterol
- USG abdomen scan
- PT-ESR

If fatty liver or NASH is the cause, then life style modification and exercises will help. Take more fruits and less fried foods. Ophthalmic examination is done for KF ring in the eye.
Sometimes cmv, ebv like viral infection might be the cause. Cardiac history and Celiac history should be ruled out. If liver enzymes is persistent and elevated, then liver biopsy can be taken. Consult a physician for examination with keeping all this in mind.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
