How Long Does Bronchitis Take To Get Cured?

Hi. I was diagnosed with bronchitis December 1, 2013 and am still dealing with the illness. I've been on 3 rounds of antibiotics and inhalers and am still not better. How long will this last and is bronchitis truly what i have? I am coughing, exhausted, chills that come and go.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you should first consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. Chest x ray
3. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
According to me you are not properly diagnosed and we should rule out chronic lung infection like tuberculosis, fungal infection and chronic bronchitis in your case.
So chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
PFT is needed for the diagnosis of chronic bronchitis. It will also tell you about severity of the disease.
You may require additional bronchodilators.
So better to first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
