Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a robotic hysterectomy with a left oophremectomy. When I woke up from surgery, I had pain in my chest from not being able to take deep breathes sitting straight up. The surgeons office said that was nothing he did. I have had a chest x-ray which showed my lungs and heart are fine and have no broken ribs. The thoracic surgeon has ordered a full body scan and informs me I have costochondritis. How long does this last? I am at 14.5 weeks not and am on 8th mg anvil every 8 hours.
Medication like muscle relaxant and analgesic will reduce pain along with it use rib support belt. You may consult physiotherapist for pain management. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.
