How Long Does Cotin Taken To Be Completely Out Of The System?
I have been on ms cotin for about 2 years now! At 60 mg 2x a day for the past 2 years. How long will it take to get out of my system? I want to get off of them and have talked to my dr about it already! I just want to know how long it takes to be out?
Hi!Long term opiate therapy induces biochemical changes in the receptors in the brain. It is at this level that dependence & withdrawal symptoms originate. As far as the drug (MS CONTIN) is concerned it'll be flushed out of the body in 1-2 days. However the biochemical changes it has induced will kick into action if it is stopped suddenly. One has to taper it for weeks to months UNDER SUPERVISION of an experienced physician to be able to see through the 'withdrawal phase' safely. All the best!
