he commonest causes of pain at the operation sites after operation are as follows::;
Infection with associated inflammation.
Nerves entrapment in stitches or later in
fibrosis.
Hematoma formation.
Less tolerance limit of the person.
I would advise you the following:::
Since your Father is elderly, the healing time is a bit more than in the young- so re-assure your Father as the first thing to do.
Consult the Operating Surgeon or his assistant to see the problem which is causing the pain so that it is possible to find the one and get an appropriate treatment.
This can be in the form of :
Change in antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines as necessary,
Removal of the stitches or
drainage of the hematoma as per the clinical finding or as found on blood tests or
ultrasonography.
Review with your Doctor again after 1 week of treatment
