I would like infor on a hysterotomy and how long it takes to heal. I have had abnormal papsmears for at least 5 years and it was suggested I should have surgery. I don t have any problems and feel I really don t need surgery. I am 77 years of age. I had a Leep procedure done some years ago following my change of life . I am a widow living alone and just hate to have surgery. I take meds for thyroid and I have fibromyalgia which flares off and on when tired or stressed but feel in good health most of the time.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. I presume you have been referring to hysterectomy. The healing time depends on the mode of surgery, postoperative events, age and any associated risk factors. It can vary from a week or two with a laparoscopic method to a few weeks with the abdominal and vaginal methods to return to normal routine. Ambulation is advised within a day of surgery. Hope your query has been clarified. Wish you good health.
