How Long Does Increased Dosage Of Linsopril Take To Show Its Effect On BP?

Yes, my blood pressure was been running a bit high over the last 3 months, I am currently on 20 mg Linsopril. This Monday dr. saw me and increased to 30 mg. How long does it take to see the difference? I had a slight cold and cough at the time, bit better now. This morning I got the gel shots for my knees. Would like keep my blood pressure up still? I have a monitor at home and I am going to take it again in a bit. Thank You, Eveltn Martinez

hello thanks for writing to HCM
-lisinopril is a rapidly acting molecule
-the onset of action is after 1 hour of intake, blood pressure reducing effect starts at around 3 hours and peak effect is seen by 7 hours
-so an increased dose of lisinopril should be effective within the first 24 hour
- if blood pressure is still increased - then further increase should be done slowly in few days
i hope it answers your query
