How Long Does It Take For A Incision Thread To Dry And Fall Off?
ok I had a laproscopic surgery and my incision is 4 1/2 weeks looks fine but there is a stitch at the end of it that still hasn t dissolved or fallen off. The other incision stitch fell off after two weeks. Should I be concerned. or go have it taken out.
Keep it clean and dry. The time it takes for dissolvable or absorbable stitches to fall off, can vary. Most of them dissolve or fall out within a couple of weeks, although it may be a few weeks before they disappear completely. Some may last for longer. Leave it on until it falls off on its own. Healing depends on your general health and the type of surgery you had.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
