How Long Does It Take For A Melanoma Which Is Repressed To Appear Again?
i had suspicious looking mole that was excised. the doctor/pathologist said there is evidence of possible repression and that there is a 5% chance it is melanoma. how long does it take ... how many years does it take on average for a melanoma that became repressed to manifest itself again?
hi...thanks for sharing your health concern here in this forum.. 1st thing is the diagnosis of this mole..if its excised then the ophthalmologist should give proper diagnosis..if its melanoma are not...and if melanoma then location, stage of disease,Clark level and the clear margin of excision are important...if the excision with clear margin accordingly is done even then there is higher risk of recurrence..but as you said 5% chances of melanoma then i don't think its melanoma...kindly if you have the histopathology report and excision procedure provided then further comments could be done...waiting for your response..thanks DR IHSAN
