How Long Does It Take For Plugged Ears Due To Stuffy Nose And Allergies To Clear Up ?

ears have been plugged for 4 months. Doctors have put me on steroid nasal spray, antibiotics, Prednisone (2 rounds) and Sudafed and Claritin. NOthing has worked....no pain in the ears....just plugged. Nose was stuffy but nasal spray cleared that up along with allergies. Doctors say it just takes time.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to health care magic,

If your ear block is due to effusion and allergy then it should be better in a month or two. Since you have already taken all the medication and it has not helped then it is advisable that you must take a scan of the temporal bone and also take a pure tone audiometry and get back to me or any ENT with the reports.

You can also try steam inhalation with menthol at least three times in a day for a week or so.

regards
