How Long Does It Take To Lower Blood Pressure With Medication?
Recently diagnosed with high blood pressure. I’ve been onLosartan about a week and mid day, my readings are around 140/108. One day it spiked to 171/108 and this is with the medicine. My doctor told me to go to 50mg of Losartan and my bp was around 148/100 all day. How long does it take to regulate? I’m also watching what I eat and stress level.

I would explain that every change in blood pressure medicine may take up to a week to help achieve e new balance in your blood pressure values.
For this reason, if after a week, your blood pressure values are still above the normal ranges (125/85mm Hg), I would recommend increasing the dose of losartan to 100mg daily.
