How Long Does It Take To Recover After Hemorrhoidectomy?
I have been diagnosed with a large thrombose hemorrhoid and I have surgery scheduled for tomorrow to have it lanced. What should I expect my recovery to be like? I have an 11month old at home and I m trying to figure out how long I ll need help taking care of her.
Welcome to HealthCare Magic. Thank you for posting your query. I can understand your concern.
Do not worry.
It will take a day for the hospital to discharge you. It's a simple procedure and will take about half an hour. Do not worry.
You will be advised to - Take sitz bath - Drink loads of water - Avoid oily, spicy food - Have a diet rich in fibres - I would start tablet Pantoprazole . Your doctor can guide on the exact dosage - I would also start syrup Lactulose to soften your stool - Avoid straining during stool
I would also suggest you to keep in touch with your surgeon . He/she can examine you and correlate clinically.
Hope this helps. Write back to us. Have a nice day. Regards. Dr. Goswami
