Now im 31 weeks pregnant and due to all the stress i am going thru, i smoked a joint and worried that by the time i deliver my babys system wont be clean. Im really not sure how long it takes for it to leave the babys system so can please some one tell me?
This question is hard to answer because a growing fetus metabolizes drugs more efficiently as he/she grows bigger/older. In some papers is is stated that traces of marijuana can not be detected in fetal tissues if the last use of marijuana happened more than 5 days before the baby was born. The main issue here is What does marijuana on the developing fetus? Marijuana is not that safe for the baby and the following has been reported (specially when smoked): Preterm delivery, growth restriction, lower birth weight and inadequate neuro-development in the first years of life. Marijuana use during pregnancy is not associated with structural fetal defects but functional are evident
