How Long Does Marriage Compatibility Test Results Take?
hello, I m considering a marriage, i have one concern he is a 3rd cousin of mine, so we both would like to take the marriage compatibility test, would both of us have to be in the same state to take the test? and how long does it usually take until we find out the results?
I will prefer to use to the term prenuptial tests as the array of tests includes test that check for compatibility and those that rule out infections.
For the compatibility, the main thing is hemoglobin electrophoresis to rule out the possibility of you both have sicked cell children. If you both are carriers, then you are not compatible. The test does not take much time and results could be given same day. The problem however is that some lab require to get a good quantity of samples before they run the tests and this could take time.
Blood group is also asked but it really does not matter.
For the infectious workups, Hepatitis B and C, HIV, Chlamydia, Herpes could be asked. HIV is compulsory but it does not imply if one person is positive, marriage can't occur same like the Hepatitis. CHlamydia can be treated.
All these workups and could be done and the results give to you the same day. Best regards Dr Achuo
Hello thank you for sharing your problem with hcm. You both don't need to be in same state to get compatibility test. You both just need to give few specimens for testing and compatibility matching. Then your doctors can match the reports and give you conclusion. Wish you good life.
