How Long Does Pain In Testicles Last After Getting Hit?

My husband was playing baseball with our 5 year old son and got hit in the testicles with the batted ball. He is hurting now but not as bad as it was initially - what do we need to watch out for and how long will the pain last? age 48, 6 feet tall, 180 lbs

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi...sometimes the sudden injury like this, can cause torsion of the testis and any injury to the testis is to be considered serious and needs examination by the doctor immediately.

I suggest you get in touch with a physician immediately.

As of now for the pain - Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose (maximum ceiling dose of 500mg) every 4-6th hourly. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.

Regards - Dr. Sumanth
