Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The radio iodine will get concentrated in your thyroid gland and will decrease your thyroid function. It can take up to 3 months for the full action of radio iodine, though most patients will become hypothyroid by 3-4 weeks. Till then you have to continue Tapdin.
In my practice I will restart tapdin after radio iodine therapy and follow them with thyroid function tests after 3 weeks. If thyroid function is normal or decreased I will decrease or stop Tapdin. Once you are hypothyorid I will start you on Thyroxinehormone replacement.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
