Hi there I ve been taking 1000mg of epilim for about 2 months and my doctor told me to stop taking it immediAtely as it was causing my legs and feet to swell. Now I m on day 4 of quitting cold turkey, how long does it take to leave my system? As I am having suicidal thoughts as a side effect of stopping the medication. And I d really like to know how much longer these terrible thoughts and moods will continue for. Thankyou
I appreciate your concern for the withdrawal effects of Epilim.
The half life of Epilim in the body ranges from 9 to 16 hours, therefore the drug itself will be completely cleared from your system within 2 days. However, it doesn’t mean that you won’t experience any withdrawal effects following the second day. Since you had been taking 1000 mg of Epilim for about 2 months your nervous system was adjusted to this high dose and hence it may take a relatively lengthy time period for your nervous system to readjust for functioning without the drug.
Hence the withdrawal effects like terrible thoughts and moods may continue for another 4-6 weeks or so.
Hope to have answered your query.
