I can understand your concern . But I want to inform you that there is no such scale to measure that how much duration a patient of heart failure will live. It will depend on so many factors and comorbidities such as hypertension CAD diabetes mellitus anemia etc.as these conditions tend to exacerbate heart failure . Certain life style modifications are equally important . such as salt and saturated fat restricted diet stop smoking and to limit alcohol consumption to less than 2 drinks per day . And if alcohol is the cause then complete abstinence is important . Apart form this extremes of temperature and heavy physical exertion should be avoided . Certain drugs such as NSAIDS that are very commonly used anemones pain killers should be avoided as they can increase heart failure . Patient should receive immunizations with influenza and pnumococcal vaccines to prevent respiratory infections .With all these measures compliance with the medication that are prescribed by your physician is important .
