How Long It Takes To Heal From Susac Syndrome?

Hello, my girlfriend has just been diagnosed with Susac's in Toronto. They have placed her on a high dose of steroids which makes her really tired, as she sleeps most of the day. How long before you think she is released, and what would you say to be her short and long-term prognosis?

Hello,

Susac syndrome is auto immune disease in which own immunity affect the blood supply to the brain, eye, and ear et cetera. Even though it is self-limiting disease treatment recover may vary from person to person or severity of the disease.

If not responded with Steroids means need Immunosuppressant like IVIG, Mycophenolate Mofetil, Azathioprine, Cyclophosphamide, Rituximab, and Anti-TNF therapies.

After remission continuation of therapy required please consult your treating doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
