Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I took my atrovastatin for the first time in the morning and by the afternoon I had shivering and flue like symptoms, except there was no fever and runny nose. I took Advil for it and somehow got better. I took the atrovastatin the following day and I feel a bit of tiredness and muscle pain but not as much. The urine is not dark and urine flow is good. Should I continue taking the Atrovastatin or not? Thanks.
But minimum time to develop myalgia is one week unless you're allergic to drug you may continue it. But you may monitor frequently for symptoms with creatinine kinase levels.
If you are allergic to the above drug then stop it consult your physician immediately.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
