How Long Should Candid-V Gel Be Used For Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi, it seems like I have a yeast infection and took mycosyst and candid-v gel. I am currently on the fifth day of taking the gel, I am seeing some improvements but the discharge is still white and thick and my vagina burns when I put the gel on. Should I continue using the candid-v gel and for how much longer? My menstrual cycle will begin in approx. 2 days.

Hi,
I understand your concern.
You are taking Mycosyst 150 mg oral & candid vaginal cream for your infection-- the therapy seems to be correct.
* Symptoms are controlled with sufficient medication If you don't get relief, in severe cases the Mycocyst ( Oral)needs to be repeated with72 hours gap for 3 times.
* The treatment is given to both sex partners & no sex is recommended till cure is observed.
* Candid gel should be continued till complete relief.
* Blood being a very good medium for fungi to grow, the infection gets excessive following periods, So, in periods the vaginal medicine has to be continued- ( Candid Vaginal pessary can be used in periods )
Thanks.
