How Long Should I Continue Giving Fenistil Drops To A Child?

Hi my 1 year old daughter was told that she has baby asthma {she kept coughing very often}, doctor gave me fenistil drop to give her twice a day to open her airways {they very narrow} how long I should keep giving her these drops, obviously she is much better now, but I am worried if I stop the cough will come back

I went through your history and would like to make suggestions as follows:

1. Fenistil drops contain antihistamines. So basically they treat nose-throat (upper airway) related cough. They have not a great role in childhood asthma (lower airways).

2. If she is not having symptoms and you have completed the duration of the course suggested by doctor, I would suggest you to discontinue the drops. In case, symptoms recur, there is always option of restart them again.

3. To be on safer side, I would suggest you to consult the doctor who prescribed fenistil drops to your baby before discontinuing.
