How Long Should I Take Ebexid Tablets For High TSH?
hi. I am taking Ebexid tablets since last 2 years when my TSH level for the first time went up at about 7.3. I am getting my TSH continuosly tested after that every 3 months it comes in the range of 3-5. What is the side effect of this medicines? Uptill what time shall i continue taking this medicines
Hello, Thanks for posting in HCM. Ebexid is a thyroid supplement which you are taking for hypothyroidism. Usually these medications are given when the thyroid gland itself umis unable to produce the thyroxine hormone required for your homeostasis of body. That is the reason these supplements are given from above so as to fil in the deficiency. So mostly these supplements are to be taken lifelong. Its dosage might be reduced depending on how much dose you require which will be decided by your treating doctor depending upon subsequent reports of thyroid profile. There are no such side effects of these medications. Only aide effect is if unchecked it might go in hyperthyroidism but as you are regularly checking tsh every 3 months it might be kept under control. Hope it answers your question. Thank goodness
