Hi,

Propofol is a short acting intravenous anesthetic. Usually its effect should not live longer in the proper dosage. Usually, patient is fully conscious within 1 hour and may be able to walk on his feet without support within 2-6 hours. However, some patient may feel a long drowsiness even up to 24 hours. Therefore, as a precautionary measure, it seems better, not to take any sedative or hypnotic at least for 24 hours after receiving Propofol.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
