How Long Should S Zatenlo Be Taken For Overcoming Depression?

Hi Iam taking S zatenlo since last one year and before six month I stoped . I got again depression and doctor advised me to start again. I have put some weight as well. I have lost sex desire as well .my age is 45 years. Please advise how long I should take this medicine .

Hi,

You are right the drug may cause weight gain and sexual weakness.

Unfortunately, drugs for depression needs to be given for long times. The first episode is treated for at least one year.

This is the least and many people need it for a long time. However, there are other drugs that may be effective for depression but may cause less sexual problems.

You may discuss this with your doctor if the drug may be changed.
