How long should a patient that has had a heart Cath done inpatient but had had a history of developing a hematoma after the same procedure was done, be kept in the hospital for ? And also should they have been put on a blood thinner with the history of having a hematoma also?
1.Do not do any strenuous activity.
2.Avoid climbing stairs.
3.Do not lift anything heavy.
4.If the puncture site is in your arm or wrist, do not lie on that arm.
5.If your puncture site is in the groin, avoid straining at bowel movements.
6..Do not scrub the site when bathing. It is fine to get it wet after your healthcare provider says it is OK, but do not scrub it or massage it.

Hi, Catheterization hematoma patient may need to treated with application of pressure in the emergency department.
