How Long Should I Use Medical Boot Post Displaced Distal Fibula Fracture?
I have a non displaced distal fibula fracture I am wearing a medical boot n wondered if it was ok to take boot off to drive a short distance I really only wear the boot while working n take it off in the late evening YYYY@YYYY Thank you
Dear patient Undisplaced fibulafracture requires rest for duration of 6 weeks and needs to be protected with below knee cast or medical boot as you are prescribed. You should avoid taking weight on it for 4 weeks. It should be worn 24 hours and removal for bike riding is not advisable as slight movement at fracture will lead to displacement and you may require surgery. So do take full rest for 6 weeks and wear boot for that period and do work for the rest of your life.
