How Long Should Medication For Throat Congestion And Sinus Be Taken?

I am male 74 yrs, hard of hearing and hence wearing Siemens CIELO 2 on both ears. Right ear is almost deaf and the left one is partially working but gradually diminishing. The guys who sold the instruments never gave after sales service despite repeated requests. Emails to Siemens never answered. Few weeks ago visited an ENT clinic where audiological tests done (PTA Rt.65, Left 43.3) Weber Rt+ve/Left+ve. For throat congestion and sinus Dr. prescribed (1) Tab.ESFOLIN PLUS 1 Tab/daily on full stomach for 60 days. (2) Tab CIPROWIN/or CIPROBID 500MG (1 tabx2) daily after food for 15 days (3) Beta EC one capx2 daily for 15 days (4) Tab ALASPIN 1/2 tab at bed time for 60 days. Please advice (considering my age) if I should take these medicines for such a long period.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Medicines for such a long time is not necessary.
2. Preferably for a week, it can be taken. Along with it non-pharmacologic measures like steam inhalation, and salt water gargling can also be done. Throat soothening agents can also be taken.
3. After that, nutritional improvement and non-pharmacologic measures can be taken.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
