How Long Should My Mother Take Antibiotics For A Deep Cut On Forearm?

My 85v year old mom got acute cellulitis. Then fell down and got severe deep cut on right forearm. How long should I continue with the antibiotic treatment. Last fever and chill bout was three days ago. Wound healing well but dressing required for another ten days.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Antibiotic is usually given for 7 to 10 days. If not responding then it should be changed after culture and sensitivity from wound. Dressing should be continued and Slough should be removed if present for fast and proper healing. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
