How Long Should Tuberculoma Medication Be Taken?
Hello doctor I also have a tubercloma in my brain before that I was suffering from mdr TB though I was having a proper treatment, it was a course of 2yrs but what happened I stopped eating medicine by hiding from my parents and within 3 momonthof it one day I got unconscious and when doctor treated me he came to know that I have skipped the medicine and he extended my mdr TB medicine for 1yr. Now my TB is being cured but I am still having medicines of tubercloma and it s being 3yrs. Can I know when it will be stopped

The duration of medicines for curing brain TB is long. It is minimum 18 months. However, in some cases, including yours (multi drug resistant TB) or those who are on irregular medicines, may require longer duration of TB medicines. You need to take TB medicines until the tuberculoma is completely cured. This can be found out by doing MRI scan of brain with contrast.
