How Long The Bleeding Will Continue After Novasure Procedure?

Hi, I had the Novasure procedure done on the 11th June 2014 and for the last week I have started bleeding more it s a dark brown discharge and with bright red spots too. It isn t a pleasant smell. I was prescribed antibiotics for 5 days after the novasure procedure. But the bleeding is getting heavier combined with cramping and tender breasts. How long will this last for? I m so tired all the time too. Thank you in advance.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Slight bleeding can happen up to five days following the procedure. Generally, it will settle by itself without any treatment.

As of now, you can take drugs like tranexamic acid to control bleeding. If bleeding persists, you can consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
