How Long The Presence Of Oxycodone Be Detected In Urine?

Hello. My name is Bill. About one year ago I suffered a compression fracture to right L1. Surgery not an option. Doctors hoping injury will calcify. In the mean time I take a doctor prescribed, opiate, oxycodone, 5 mg, fast acting for pain relief. The small dosage does not present a dependency risk, just makes life more pain free. If I take a UA for a job application, how long does the oxycodone stay in my urine? Bill

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Oxycodone is extensively metabolized and eliminated primarily in the urine as both conjugated and unconjugated metabolites. The apparent elimination half-life (t½) of oxycodone following the administration of OXYCONTIN was 4.5 hours compared to 3.2 hours for immediate-release oxycodone. Hence Oxycodone can be detected in the urine for 9-10 hours after administration.
