Hello,
You were on
Petogen for birth control. Presently, you are planning for a baby, after stopping Petogen you should start getting normal periods. If you had your first period after stopping Petogen, then there is possibility of falling pregnant. Do continue to have unprotected sex with your partner (husband). Some women fall pregnant immediately after stopping petogen while some can take 18 months after they stop birth control to get pregnant. it varies from individual to individual.
Since ovulation after coming off of birth control pills can be somewhat unpredictable, having
unprotected intercourse can result in
pregnancy. You can try for 2years (24 months) if you are getting regular periods. If your periods are not regular, get treated for it. Take uterine tonic for better uterine health.
If it is not working still & you are not getting pregnant you can get clinically examined by a Gynae specialized in
infertility so that both the partners can be tested & treatment started at the earliest. Both the partners should stay away from
stress (physical or emotional) and avoid
smoking, alcohol or drugs, etc.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
