How Long Will It Take To Regularise Periods After Being Off From Lutera Tablets?
It s been three months I have been off of Lutera Tablets. When I was taking them, my period would usually start on a Tuesday, Wednesday, sometimes even a Thursday. The last two months since i have been off Lutera it has started on a Sunday and then Monday. It is the third month of being off now and I have been cramping on and off and ovulating on and off. I did read that it may take up to 6 months to get your regular period back (I was irregular before Lutera Tablets). What is happening with my period? It is suppose to be this week (if I were on Lutera) because the last two periods happened the same week they would have if I was still taking Lutera.
After stopping combined pills like Lutera, spotting and abnormal discharge can occur for the first 3 to six months. This differs from person to person since your body needs own time to adjust to the new hormone levels. You can wait for 2 more months for your cycles to return to normal. In case of persisting symptoms, pelvic ultrasound and hormone levels should be checked for further management.
