How Long Will Recovery Take While On Banocide Forte, Dolowin And Microdox-lbx For A Swollen Left Testicle?
Hi, My left testicle got swollen ( it is 15-20 times to the right testicle). I have seen my physician, he asked genral question, where is the pain and how long and have I been to any rural places etc and prescribed me Banocide Forte, Dolowin and Microdox-lbx. I am using the medicine for the last 3 days but the swelling has reduced only 30%. Is it something to worry or will it take some time to for complete recovery.

Usually, the treatment for filaria is given for 12 days with banocide in a dose of 6mg/kg/day. Alternatively, the treatment with doxycycline can be given with a dose of 200mg/day for 6 weeks. As you have been given treatment combined with both these drugs, your doctor might have thought it necessary to go for it, as it may be necessary in some cases.
As, your treatment seems effective, as you say that swelling has reduced to 30% with 3 days treatment. Hence, in my opinion, you should complete the treatment, as advised by your doctor (which may be 12 days of Banocide and 6 weeks of doxycycline). Hope your problem gets resolved with complete treatment. However, even if, after complete treatment, if you get some problem or the disease appears again, then you are advised to see your doctor and treatment done accordingly.
