How Long Will The Side Effects Last After Stopping Crestor?
I was told by a pharmacist that crestor and its side effects can stay in your system up to a month after stopping. On line it says it just says crestor can stay in you from days to a long time. But doesn t say what a long time is. The side effect that is being experienced is appetite loss and subsequent weight loss. How long will these side effects last after stopping crestor.
Hello, Thank you for posting your query on HCM. Poor appetite, nausea and subsequent weight loss are common side effects of statins including crestor. It may be related to liver inflammation denoted by elevated liver enzymes. These symptoms subside with discontinuing crestor and usually within two weeks. However in some people it may last longer depending on the metabolism. Wish you good health. Dr. Noble Zachariah
