Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a Baker's cyst aspirated and then was given an injection of Decadron, also in the back of my knee. I am experiencing a little soreness at the site and down my leg--no itching, swelling, nor redness--just al ittle soreness in the muscle which is located in my calf--down the middle. How long should this last?
it can be there for 3 weeks as steroid is a irritant drug and can cause pain and soreness in some patients, I would suggest you to avoid squatting, sitting cross leg or doing any prolong standing, Also avoid voletran ointment and take Ibuprofen tablet for four to five days. Some time there can be recurrence of these cyst and that time you will need a surgery to remove it. I would also suggest you to avoid any more steroid injections.
