How Long Would A Genital Area Boil Take To Heal?

Yes,I want to know how long it should take for a genital boil to completely heal.have notice great improvement in last 4 weeks but not completely vanished.Of all things was caused by excessive sweating while working on a new portion of a hospital where they would not allow the ventilation and air chiller to be operated till construction was completed to save hospital money. Now there is a serious health issue because of the hospital personels ignorance . I feel there is grounds for lawsuit actually. The very institute that is suppose to realize and help with health issues has once again fallen short off that. They were even told that this ignorance to not allow the operations of ventilation equipment until completion of construction was a serious health issue for the construction workers involved. How sad is that?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Four weeks is a rather long time for a boil to last. Of course, Skin and soft tissue infections/boils are common in hot, sweaty conditions.
If I was the treating doctor I would have started you empirically on an Oral antibiotic for a week. My choice of oral antibiotics would have been either flucloxacillin or cephalexin for a week or 10 days.
Topically you may use an OTC topical antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin ointment, twice daily.
An OTC painkiller e.g ibuprofen, twice or thrice daily will provide you symptomatic relief from pain and swelling.

Regards
