How Many Days After Having Unprotected Sex With History Of Having Regular Periods Can HPT Be Taken?

My husband and I are trying to concieve a child. We recently had unprotected sex from Jan 6 through Jan 8 a couple times a day, in total about 9 times in four days. I"d really like know the probability of me being pregnant . I use to be on birthcontrol but stopped a year ago and have regular periods. What are my chances of conceiving. When should i take a pregnancy test. My period is usually on the 16     or 20 of the month.

Thanks for the query.
If you had intercourse around the time of ovulation there is possibility of pregnancy.
Usually the possibility of pregnancy in single menstrual cycle varies from 8% to 50%.
This depends on many factors like:
- Regular ovulatory cycles,
-Normal hormonal levels,
-Normal seminal parameters
-Normal internal reproductive orgsns etc.
To test for pregnancy you have to wait till your expected date of periods.
If you want to go for blood test for pregnancy, you can test on the day of expected day of periods.
If you want to choose urine pregnancy test, better to do 4 to 5 days after missed period to get accurate result.
Start taking folic acid prophylaxis from nowonwards.
