Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor,
My son is 14 months old now. He takes 3 times a day rice and dal and 2 to 3 bananas a day apart from breast milk and powder milk. I have introduced eggs from past 15 days. He likes eggs and consumes both egg white and yellow. My query is how many times in a week baby should have eggs. Giving 1 egg daily will be good for the baby or not and any other food tips.........Aparna
Hi...there is no specific consensus that only this much has to be given per day. Egg is a reference protein and is very good for healthy actively growing babies like this. If he likes you can give 2-3...more than this the proteins will not be stored in the body and will be excreted out. So this is the best thing to do. Regards - Dr. Sumanth

Dear Madam,
Thank you for posting your query at healthcaremagic.com
In a day 3* Dal rice,2 banana and 1 egg is good enough. You can introduce him porridge and other fruits and juices in small quantity.Like grated apple, raagi (millet) porridge, oat meal porridge, Almond paste, non spice lentil soup will add on.
Hope you find my answer informative. Your vote of thanks is very much appreciated.
Hi...1 egg per day is quite fine. But if he's liking it, well and good, let him enjoy it. No harm if he eats 3 eggs per day. Other home-made food options will be - 1. Daal and rice well cooked and made into a porridge along with ghee 2. Boiled apple or banana and mashed into a paste. 3. Any made cereal porridge preparation with additional ghee added.
