Hallow Dear,

I do agree that vaginal fungal infection can cause burning sensation and itching in the vaginal area and vulva. However, it is not the only cause for such symptoms.

Moreover you had pimples and pus in the vulval area. This is more in favour of some bacterial infection (which can get worse with the antifungal medicines); most likely some sexually transmitted infection. From your narration, it appears to be possible Gonorrhoea infection.

Has any Gynaecologist examined you and diagnosed it as fungal infection? If not, please do not apply anti-fungal cream. Get examined from the Gynaecologist.

Culture and sensitivity test on the pus discharge will help identify the causative organisms and the antibiotics to which they are sensitive. Accordingly appropriate antibiotics may be started. Along with, please use Lactobacilli vaginal preparations or perineal wash which will facilitate early and permanent recovery.

Please counsel your partner also to undergo simultaneous treatment lest the risk of recurrence to both.

I hope this helps you today.
