How Much Magnesium Does An Elderly Dancer With Leg Pain Require?

Hi! I work at a health food store. I saw a woman today who had great pain in her legs. She doesn't want to see a doctor or have blood tests. She is in her late 60s and has always been a dancer and runner. I don't know whether she has had any injuries. She was asking me about magnesium supplements. I told her to do some research, at least before taking things that may not help her. I think she needs more than magnesium. She bought Mega Foods magnesium 50 mg. How should I direct her the next time she comes in for supplements?

Welcome to HCM
I appreciate your concern.
she must be depend on natural sources of magnesium beside use medication(no contraindication to use it).A lot of foods are good sources for magnesium like leafy vegetables, such as spinach, legumes, nuts and seeds, also some breakfast fortified food are good source for magnesium.Tab and bottle water can also be sourcesnof magnisum.
Please also tell her to do serum calcium, because most old women suffer from osteoporosis.
Thanks
