How Much Time Is Needed For A Fractured Backbone To Recover ?

my mother,age 68, she get fractured at her backbone( only at outgrowth region) she has pain at her back and belt region doctor prescribe her some painkiller and l.s belt. Pls tellme how can she recover soon.and how much time will taken?

hello,
if osteoporosis is the cause of the fracture then-
1) main treatment is non-surgical care, such as rest, pain medication and slow return to mobility.
2)if surgery needed then vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty, to help in the healing of fracture.
3) drugs like calcium supplements, increased vitamin D, weight-bearing exercises, and hormone replacement therapy is helpful in preventing further occurence of fracture.
