How Much Weight And Stress Can Shoulder Replacement Joints Withstand?
I am a 65 year old paraplegic. I use my shoulders for everything, wheeling. lifting, transferring etc. Both shoulder s need to be replaced as determined by 2 separate orthopedic doctors. I s 6 3 and 400 lbs. How much weight and stress can shoulder replacement joints withstand? I have been putting off the surgery because I enjoy my work and business; and realize the recovery will be very long and may end my work. I was injured in 1973, L 1 and L2.

Don't go for shoulder joint replacement until it is absolutely necessary. Your paraplegia and heavyweight (400 lbs). Will definitely put a heavy strain on the shoulders.
