I have a Ventolin inhaler and the doctor did not tell me how often max I could use it in a 24 hour period. This inhaler is just to be used till i have an appointment next week. She plans to perscribe a regular asthma inhalent of dulera and also poss Tudorsa. But the weekend is near and if I use the rescue inhaler Ventolin I did not want to over use it for any reason.

Its dosage depends on the intensity of your symptoms.During acute symptoms, 2 inhalations repeated every 4 to 6 hours.However, in the absence of symptoms, you may not use it. Your Doctor may encourage the use of ventolin during acute attacks and may recommend a Long-term asthma control medications like seretide or others for preventive purposes.Just observe your symptoms and always have your inhaler with you till you meet your Doctor.
