How Painful Split In Butt Crack Will Heal?

A very painful split in the butt crack area. The cut and skin is both very red. It is not swollen at all and no bumps or lumps. The area is the top of the butt crack to half way down. I have tried neosporin and hydrocortisone and it seems to not heal. Hurts to walk, sit and lay down. This has been going on for a few months, it will get better forf 3-5days and then it will become spilt again.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of split on butt crack, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid irritation and pressure at that site.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine for itching and NSAID like ibuprofen for pain.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like azithromycin and cefadroxil taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
